There's a famous song about the character of Santa Claus: Why have you been so moody this week? naughty or nice She's been really sick for the last few days. To describe someone's behavior or characteristics during a certain time period, use "have been _": When one of the PCs got married at the end of the campaign, the whole family attended and put on an aerobatics show.(someone) has been (adjective) (time period) They defeated Krampus and went on to save Sulaminga and Entredor from the BBEG and find a way to restore Hestia. The petrified statue of Hestia caused them great consternation, but the party was charmed when Vernalia crawled up over her mother's shoulder and yelled "You're a bad man!" again and then used her adorably tiny breath weapon on him. And he had a couple of options for combat - one was a scythe, and the other involved sucking people into his bag of lost children. On his turn he could slam down one foot as a swift action (think bonus action in 5e terms) causing everyone within ten feet of him to slide three squares away from him and make another check against falling prone. But in my version, he caused every surface around him to ice over, making difficult, slippery terrain (Acrobatics checks DC 15 to avoid falling prone any time they move). ![]() We were on Pathfinder 1e, so I don't have 5e stats for him. " And a young female voice saying "Go away! You're a bad man!" (Santa has kind, cute elves Krampus has psychopathic redcaps.)Īs they fought their way through the redcaps, they could hear Krampus ahead in the cavern, calling out: "Come out, little one! I can smell your sins. They pursued, and he left a group of redcaps to fight them outside the entrance to the cavern. They recognize him off a check of some kind - Arcana, perhaps. The PCs got involved when Krampus nearly ran them over, lashing the zombie reindeer pulling his sleigh on the way to collect Vernalia and put her in his bag of bad children. And she hid rather than fight to save her family. She revealed her family's home to an enemy. The BBEG taunts her for revealing the location of her home, and then leaves her alone with her petrified mother. Vernalia escapes by hiding in a tiny crack at the back of the cavern that only she is small enough to get into. He petrifies Hestia with a Flesh to Stone spell, captures Sulaminga and Encontredor, enslaving them as minions in his fiendish plot, and packs up their hoard in a bag of holding. Later, the BBEG returns with a bunch of minions. He asks her all about her family, and helps her locate their cavern. And that's when she runs into the BBEG of the adventure. But Vernalia is jealous of her older brothers, who get to go outside and play unsupervised. Hestia warns Vernalia not to stray too far from their cavern, because the wilds are dangerous and she's still very young. Take a family of four bronze dragons: the momma (Hestia), two juveniles (Sulaminga and Encontredor) and one wyrmling, Vernalia. Combat areas for every conceivable encounter.
